    Description

A comprehensive review of the European Motorcycle scene in the 1930s, concentrating on the technical aspects of the leading manufacturers and the motor sports scene (Isle of Mann TT etc.).  Inevitably, the text has to include something of the social history of the era, including the rise of the autocratic dictator regimes in Europe and what this did for the industry.  Includes some wonderful illustrations, line drawings of the engines, frames etc. and a great many photographs (130 odd), many in color.  Covers some long-lost manufacturers such as Brough, Panther, SOS, Royal Enfield, Ariel, BSA, Levis, Velocette, Nimbus, DKW, Norton, Rudge, Victoria, AJS, and OK Supreme as well as some survivors such as BMW and Triumph.  A great reference for an enthusiast or collector of these older machines.  Hardback, 144pp.
