    Esmeralda Tall Ship 37" Wood Painted Model Sailboat Assembled
    This highly detailed, museum quality, expert level, Esmeralda tall ship model is Brand New, fully assembled and ready for display (not a kit).
    This tall ship model was specially designed & built by the plank on bulkhead method (joining multiple small pieces of exotic tropical wood together on the hull). The tall ship model is built exactly to scale as the original Esmeralda was with many details. The task required skillful craftsmen hundreds of hours to accomplish.
    The Esmeralda is a 4-Masted barquentine, she was originally being built for Spain but was transferred to the ownership of Chile in 1951 and now serves as a Chilean Navy Training Ship.
    The training ship is 371 feet long and 159 feet tall which makes her the 2nd longest and tallest sailing ship in the world. There are 21 sails that have a total sail area of 30,892 square feet; this pushes the ship along at a top speed of 17 1/2 knots.
    The crew consists of 300 sailors and 90 midshipmen. She has visited more than 300 ports worldwide acting as a floating embassy for Chile.
    The model measures 37.5" long from bow to stern. It's a beautiful ship model that will be a conversation piece for any room or office.
