COLUMBIA BM CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH
Rare "Baby Brother to the BC"
This phonograph, aka :"Home Premier" introduced in 1906, was considered high-tech, state-of-the-art in it's day.  It's main feature is the "Higham Loud Play reproducer", which was earlier introduced on the Columbia BC.  The BC was, however so large and cumbersome that the smaller BM model was thought to be more suitable for home use.
In any event, the complex and sophisticated Higham reproducer was not a big success and the BC and BM were only produced for about a year or two, with the BM in much smaller quantities.  In fact, even though we've had lots of BC's, this is the only example of a BM we've ever encountered.
This machine has been thoroughly, and properly, professionally restored and is virtually flawless.  It looks (and plays) like it just came from the factory.
The solid mahogany casework, with original decals, measures 17" x 11" at the base.  There is an excellent floor crane, supporting a large (30" x 17") brass horn bearing the Hawthorne & Sheble manufacturing stamp.

You can look far and wide and never find another BM.  And certainly not in this condition!
This requires three (3) boxes for shipping (the mechanism will be removed from the case).
