    Description

The Thailand 50 Baht polymer banknote was issued by the Government of Thailand in 1996 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Rama IXs enthronement. The obverse of the blue banknote shows the Royal Garuda emblem, the Chakri Dynasty emblem which depicts a chakra (discus) and a trisula (trident). It also features Bhumibol Adulyadej wearing a uniform and the royal ceremonial emblem of the Golden Jubilee with elephants and a crown. The reverse of the note depicts the coat of arms of Thailand and the signature of Rama VII, the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall with the Royal Dusit Palace in Bangkok, Rama VIIs statue based from the monument in front of the National Parliament building, and the Royal Garuda emblem. The paper bill is 144 x 72 mm in size and bears a watermark that reflects a shadow image of Rama IX. This commemorative banknote is in uncirculated condition.
