    Description

The blue 50 Thai baht banknote is the first banknote from the 2012 series to be introduced on the anniversary of King Naresuan the Greats victory in 1593. Its obverse side presents the portrait of Rama IX Bhumibol Adulyadej in the Royal House of Chakri gown. Its reverse side highlights King Naresuana portrayal of his victory against the Burmese, the statue of Somdet Phra Naresuan Maharaj in Buri Province, and a statue of a seated King Naresuan pouring water on the ground to symbolize Thailands declaration of independence. The note has a windowed security thread with demetalized 50 BAHT in English and Thai, a watermark of Rama IX, and an electrotyped Thai watermark. The note is 144 mm long and 72 mm wide.
