    Description

The Thailand 500 Baht polymer banknote was issued by the Government of Thailand in 1996 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Rama IXs ascension to the throne. The paper bill comes in a combination of gold and green and is 171 x 91 mm in size. The obverse of the paper bill features the Royal Garuda emblem, the royal ceremonial emblem of the Golden Jubilee with the crown and elephants. It also shows Bhumibol Adulyadej wearing a uniform, a mythical creature called Kinnon which is half bird and half man, and Rama IX hologram. The banknotes reverse depicts Rama IX hologram, agricultural crops, farmers in a field, a waterfall, a dam, Rama IX with radio, a pen, a folded map, and an SLR camera. The paper bill bears a watermark that reflects a shadow image of the Royal emblem. This Thailand 500 Baht banknote is in uncirculated condition.
