    Description

Tom Scholz Bass Rockman Original 1980s. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This is the original, vintage Scholz Bass Rockman from the 1980s, designed and manufactured by Tom Scholz of Boston fame (NOT the newer, simpler "Bass Ace").  It's a headphone amp that can also be used as a preamp, with a chorus that offers a fuzzbox-like distortion setting as well as EQ, hi-frequency compressor, sustain boost and a hi-frequency clipper to reduce pick noise (see photos and scan of manual page). Operates on eight AA batteries (not included).  Original owner.  Photos show battery cover off (to show absence of oxidation) but I tested it with it on -- it's fully functional.  All settings work, though I can't vouch for the effectiveness of the high frequency clipper with your particular bass or guitar (it needs to be individually adjusted per switch on back).  There is some crackling when moving sliders.  Original box and manual included -- box is not in great "collectible" shape.  Not included: headphones or external AC power supply.  This amp was groundbreaking in its time - they don't make them like this any more.
