    Description

This highly detailed, museum quality, expert level, Wasa tall ship model is Brand New, fully assembled and ready for display (not a kit). This tall ship model was specially designed & built by the plank on bulkhead method (joining multiple small pieces of exotic tropical wood together on the hull). The tall ship model is built exactly to scale as the original Wasa was with many details. The task required skillful craftsmen hundreds of hours to accomplish. The Wasa was commissioned in the 17th century, by the King of Sweden to be his country’s finest warship. During construction, he insisted that the ship is fitted with a second row of cannon on both sides. The shipbuilder "Henrik Hybertsson" knew that this would make the ship top heavy, but he dared not argue with the King.
The Wasa sunk 20 minutes after her launch in 1628. She was raised on April 24, 1961, after 333 years on the sea bottom and completely restored, she now rests in the Stockholm Naval Museum. The model measures 38" long from bow to stern. It's a fabulous ship model that will be the conversation piece for any room or office. This is an Exclusive Edition Model Ship, where each model is uniquely identified by a serial number, which is laser cut to the hull of each model. In this edition, we are able to identify the production date of a model, the material that was used on the model, the craftsmen who worked on each area of the model, the individual who inspected the model and also the professional packaging staff. Quality is our number 1 priority, thus all steps are thoroughly supervised from the beginning to the end of making each model.
