    Description

This is a strip of US Navy Service Overseas Chevrons.
Each chevron represented 6 months of service overseas.
The chevrons were also used to signify "wounds" or injuries, and predated the Purple Heart.
The chevrons were cut off the strip and issued as the sailors earned them.
This original set of 10 chevrons is in excellent unissued condition.  Each chevron is 2¾ inches across.  The full set is 8½ inches long.
A great addition to your World War I Navy collection!
